MRS. BRUCE ENTERTAINS AT BRIDGE THURSDAY
Mrs. C. T. Bruce entertained at five tables of bridge at “Stone Hgven” Thursday, evening, June ft.
The high score guest prize was won by Mrs. R. E. Wood and th§ high score club prise was received by Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., the traveling prize was awarded to Mrs. George "Taylor and bin go prize was received by Mrs. T. C. Lea.

‘■3. Trinity Auxiliary met Vat the church Wednesday, June 7. Mrs. A. M. Verner was appointed secretary of the auxiliary in fill the unexpired takro of Mrs. D. C. Link, who is moving away from the county in thli near future.
The auxiliary members formulated plans for sponsoring a garden supper which will be held at “Millermead,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller, Saturday, July 22.

The F. T. Valley club met June —8 at the home of Mrs. J. G. Revercomb, Mrs. Jean Gallihugh, Mrs. Mabel Gore, and Mrs Helen Bruce gave the demonstration on freezing fruits and 'vegetables.
Washington H.D. club met June 7 at Washington Fire House. At this meeting the committee for purchasing clothing for two small children on welfare reported they had bought two complete outfits for two childrn, two nice summer dresses and two sets of under, wear. The club also donated $11 to a 4-H member to attend 4-H Short Course, June 26 - July 1. They donated $5 to get food for a needy family in the county. This sounds like the club ie very community minded. A demonstration was given by Mrs. Gilbert Updike on how to can rhubarb and kale. The agent showed the group how to freeze greens and rhubarb. She also talked to them about how to freeze meats, cooked and baked foods. The meeting ended with light refreshments.
