Any letter postmarked on that date will not have the ex* ton penalty imposed even if it arrives at the treasurer’s office later then that day.
College Day Program At
Warren County School
__Mr. Glenn Snyder, Guidance Director, Warren County High School, announces the College Day Program to be held at the school Thursday, November 30 (today).
At this time representatives from practically every college and university in Virginia will be on hand in Front Royal Vto make abort tails to the , high school seniors on matters of interest to prospective college students and to bold individual conferences with the seniors.
The seniors of Rappahannock ' County High School have accepted Mr. Snyder’s invitation to attend the meeting and participate in the conference. The group will be accompanied by Miss Beth Owen, Home Ec. instructor.
Incidentally, a brief survey in R. C. H. S. indicates that approximately 12 per Cent of the high school students in the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades are interested in attending college. There are at the present time, five graduates of Rappahannock county high schools in attendance at Virginia colleges. . !
GARDEN CLUB MEETS AT “DELAMORE” « T
The Rappahannock Garden club met Wednesday, November 22 at “Delamore,” home of Mrs. J. Frank Jones and Mr. and Mrs. £ M. Jones. Guest speaker was Mrs. Paul Hounshell of Culpeper, wbo spoke, on the art of making corsages and made several corsages to show how it was done,_
The dub voted to take a welfare family for Christmas. Ail gifts are to be wrapped ■ and brought to the next meeting which will be held at “Rose Hill” with Mrs. W. C. Hall as hostess. At this meeting the packages will be judged on wrapping, in the place of the usual flower arrangements.
