uu^uisucu nmuu/ ovuueuv the school year 1960-161. Last year ha was awarded the Coast Artillery Association Medal for being the most outstanding cadet ^ in the R.O.T.C. unit during the school year of 1949-60.
While at Hampton, he has been . selected by a number of student organisations to represent them at various conventions. Such organisations have sent him as their representative to conventions in Atlanta, Ga.; Wilberforce, Ohio; and Washington, D. C. _._ _ It must be remembered that the high scholastic and achievement record of this student did not begin at Hampton. In looking back over his record, one will find that be graduated from the Manassas Industrial-School with a straight-A average in May 1946. He is a veteran of World War II and saw foreign service in Austria and Germany. Upon receiving—his— commission as a second lieutenant in June 1961, he plans to enter the Army of the United States so that he may serve his country in his fullest capacity.
The Washington P.-T.A. meeting will be held Tuesday night, December 6, at the school at 7:30. All parents and citisens are urged to attend.
The First Baptist church of Washington will have its regular worship service Sunday, December 3. Sunday school at 10 o’clock, gnd morning worship at 11, and a special service Sunday night at. 8 p.m.
On Sunday, December 3, the church will mark the closing of our rally, which has been in prpg? ress since August 6, We are grateful to all our churches and friends who have helped us in this rally. A special service and final report .will be given Sunday evening at 8 p.m. We are inviting all our friends and sister churches who participated with us in this final conclusion of this great effort for our church.—Rev.
