Grown men and women do not 'continue seriously with high school rivalries; they outgrow them.
It is a mythological battle continued through the county’s love of teasing and sport with words. The ancient art of conversation, nearly extinct in other sections of our great nation, is still alive in Rappahannock and a part of it takes the form of pleasant “kidding,” kiddin’ a fellow about being hen-pecked, kiddin’ him about the town he lives in, or kiddin’ him about some preposterous, concocted story.
