Back a few years the world heralded the rapid demise of the fly. DDT was here to stay and the pestiferous ffy was on its way out —for good. It was predicted that in a few years the fly-swatten would be a museum piece, and you could n<od comfortably on the front porch upon a summer’s evening without slapping the end of your nose.
