Christening Held June 17
Philip Byrd Eastham III was christened Sunday morning, June 17, at Flint Hill Methodist church, Rev. Norman Flythe officiating.
Byrd wore the christening gown of his great-grandmother. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Eastham of Hume and grandson of Mrs. Fannie Eastham of “East Hamlet,” Flint Hill, and of Mrs, P. R. Wright of Hume.

Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Massie, HI, entertained a few of their friends Thursday evening, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McCauley, of Texas, at their home, “Hampden Hall”, having as their guests Miss Doll Smith, Mr. and ,Mrs. Billy Matthews, and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Russell, of Front Royal. Other guests were Wallace Critter, Kit Price, Jack Price, Jim Massie, and Dave Miller.

The Rappahannock Garden club will meet Wednesday, June 27, ,*t 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Lewis Turner on Mt. Salem avenue in Washington. The program will be on preparing material for dried flowers. Exhibit will be on an arrangement suitable for a new baby. —
