The Sperryville Fire Company realized $560.88 on the carnival held last week on the school grounds. ‘
That’s the whole story. The ,fact that that one statement is the whole story is the greatest sadness that befalls the local newspaper.' There are many good stories, that could be told about the time the local people had at the carnival, but the fellows who print the newspaper don’t want to be run out of the couny. There’s the story of the fellow who was kidded for working in a "gambling” booth, and his mother such a religious lady, too. He’d shoot somebody if that story came out in the paper.
There waa a “hoochy-coochy” dancing show—and nobody closed it. Many a good story can be told about that one, but, there again, it can’t be printed. Woe is the poor newspaper printer,
