Concern Is A Good Sign
Some of the volunteer firemen of Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company are seriously and genuinely concerned about the inactivity of the fire company at Washington. v
One fireman stated yesterday that he was going to attend the town council meeting and see if something could be done to encourage the fire company to have drills and keep up efficiency and interest in the fire-fighting group. “It’s too late after a fire has swept out somebody’s home,” was his comment.
Other firemen say that, while there is little actual fire-fighting to do—thank goodness—; it is necessary to keep interest alive and keep the firemen and the citizens awake to dangers and awake to the necessity of keeping a ready, willing, and able group of Volunteer fire-fighters.
