About this tim« of year outdoor lovers begin to run across young fawns, bear cubs, baby raccoons, and the young of other animals, all of which make wonder, ful pets. In practically all cases, these animals are captured by persons who think they have been lost or left to starve by their parents. Actually, such an occurrence is rare, as in most instances the parent has been frightened away and has left its young only temporarily.
“These animals should be left in the woods where they belong,” warns Ned Thornton, assistant chief of the Commission’s game division. “It is against the law to do otherwise, and good sportsmen and conservation-minded individuals will leaYe them there so that they may furnish sport and pleasure to all.”
