County News Notes

Mrs. Harry Smith and daughter, Elizabeth, are spending this week with Hrs. Carson Winston in Louisa.

Mr. and Mrs. George Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Updike attended the Five Forks Baptist allday meeting Sunday. Rev. Thompson, the guest minister, is the guest at present of Mr. and Mrs. George Wood.

Mr .and Mrs. R. E. Jones and their daughter, Cinda, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Haywood Griffith and family, and Robert Bruce of Front Royal were guests Sunday of Mrs. S. G. Bruce at the home of Mr. and Mrk. C. Ennis Brown.

Misses, Della, Beulah, and Ebba Hitt, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Brown, and Miss Nettie Bontz attended an all-day meeting at Oak Grove Methodist church in Madison on Sunday. On Saturday the Misses Hitt, Miss Jlontz, and Mrs. George Brown (were shoppers in > Culpeper.

Mrs. Robert Caldwell of Pensacola, Fla., and Mrs. Preston Avery of Atlanta, Ga., who had been visiting Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller at “Maple Springs,” left for heir homes Monday. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Miller had as their guest for dinner Mrs. Jay Brown. Callers at “Maple Springs” Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Browning West of Maryland, who also visited Mrs. Jay Brown at her home on Mt. Salem avenue in Washington.
