Johhnie Addison Brooks di«d at his homo near Huntly on July 1. Funeial services will be held* this afternoon, July 6, at 2 o’clock from Sandy Hook Baptist church with Elder Smith Timbers officiating:. Interment will be in the Russell graveyard.
Mr. Brooks was a veteran of World War I and served overseas for a number of months.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks, and six sons and four daughters: Johnnie Brooks, Jr., and Samuel Brooks of Baltimore, Md.; James Brooks of Markham, William, Charles, and Leonard Brooks, at home; Mrs. Roberta Williams of Riverton, Mrs. Alice Williams of Riverton, Mrs. Mary Roberts of Markham, and Dorothy Brooks, at home.
Other survivors include three brothers. Frank Brooks of Fronb Royal, Willie Brooks and McKinley rooks of Strasburg; a half-brother, Herndon Taylor „of Huntly, and four sisters, Mrs. Grade Russell of Huntly, Mrs. Roberta Turner of 'Huntly, Mrs. Mary Smith of Nineveh, and Mrs. Bessie Yewell of Markham; 17 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Anniversary services will begin at Macedonia Baptist church, at Flint Hill, Sunday night, July 8, at 8 p.m. Services will be held throughout the week-ending with an all-day service on Sunday, July 15.
