Chamber of Commerce; Edwin W. Alfriend IV, Insurance Executive. PURPOSES of THE BLUE RIDGE MUSIC CENTER 1. To encourage and promote among the people of Virginia and surrounding states, a better understanding and appreciation of the creative arts, especially in music. 2. To establish a summer theatre for musical and literary entertainment by the public at a reasonable cost. 3. To establish a summer work-shop or camp training school for adults and young worthwhile and potential musicians so they might pursue their natural talents. , 4. Management of music center facilities. 5. Management of programs and arrangements of concerts. 6. Collection of membership dues from the various chapters of the Blue Ridge Music Festival Assoc. 7. Management of properties, facilities and quarters of the Blue Ridge Music Work-shop. 0 8. Collection of gate receipts from non-members. ($2 per concert) 9. Publicity and promotion of the Music Center activities. 10.
