,J' I Rites Held For Mrs. Susie Cook
Funeral services lor Mrs. Susie Howard Cook, 72, who died at) the home of her daughter, Mrs. D ere-pry Gates, of Rice, were held June 20 at Pisgah Baptist church. Burial waa in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was the widow of Rev. George Frederick Cook, a Baptist minister in Virginia for 35 years, and formerly pastor of Flint Hill, F. T., Sperryville, and Woodville Baptist churches.
In addition __ to the daughter, Mrs. Gates, Mrs. Cook is survived by two other daughters and two eons.
Revival At Amissville
The revival will begin at Amisaville Methodist church on July Id. Rev. Roscoe Johnson, pastor of Front Royal Methodist church, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is cordially invited.
SUPERVISORS^VOTE HIGH
CARNIVAL TAX
The$Board of Supervisors, in meeting Monday, July 2, voted to impose a high tax on carnivals in the county. A full list of these new taxes appear in the paper under the beading “Resolutions.”
Additional regular -business was attended to by the supervisors, with every member present. Some road problems were settled with Richard Worthington, resident engineer of the Highway Department, present for the discussions.
