Today’s papers should tell how many people got in free to see “Faith of Our Fathers” on July 4. It had been advertised that anyone who had the name of a signer of the Declaration of Independence would be admitted free that day.
Upon digging out a copy of the Great Document, it was discovered —from as many names as are legible—that there might be some difficulty in locating present-day citizens of some of the names.
Did the fellow? who thought up that scheme happen to look up the list? There might not be many Francis Lightfoot Lees and Carter Braxtons present, but one of the signers of the Declaration was named James Smith. Incidentally, there was also a William Williams and a George Taylor._
