installed gas lignts. .Later m I'dzl two Sunday school rooms were added to each side of the building. Again in 1939 electric fixtures, drapes and a new carpet were purchased to beautify the sanctuary. In 1949 a central heating plant was installed.
The Sunday School is the largest organization of the church with a membership of 140. Mr. John A. Keyser served as superintendent most faithfully for forty years. His nephew, R. V. Snead is now serving as his successor. The school is in need of additional rooms to adequately serve the scholars. It is the plan of the congregation to build four new rooms as soon as economic conditions permit.
Other organizations are Woman’s Missionary Society, Business Women’s Circle, Boy Scouts, Church Choir, and Girl’s Auxiliary and the Sunbeam Band.
The Constitution and By-Laws were adopted January 29, 1951 setting up standing committees of Finance, Maintenance, Visiting and Enlistment, Nominations and Resolutions, Communion, Flower, Publicity and Program Planning Committee. A rotating system for election of deacons and church officers was included. In effect as of this year, a unified budget which in. eludes all the activities of the church and provides a goal of achievement for a given year.
