At Luray Vespers
Dr. Robert F. Caverlee, pastor of the Fredericksburg Baptist church, will be the guest speaker at the Sunset Vesper Service to be held on the lawn at Luray Singing Tower on Sunday, August 5. The sendee will begin at 6:59^.10. and will be preceded by music on the bells by Carillonneur Charles ■T. Chapman. These Sunset Vesper Services which are sponsored by the Luray Ministerial Association will be held each Sunday through September 2. This Sunday’s program leader will be the Rev. L. Lee Richardson, assisted by Rev. James Horn. Mrs. Eleanor Sanford Turner will be the guest soloist.
Dr. Caverlee is at present a member of the Board of Trustees of University of Richmond, of the Culpeper Home for the Aged of the Baptist Orphanage at Salem, and Fork Union Military Academy. He serves as an instructor at Mary Washington Colleg«,of the University of Virginia in history of religions and Biblical’ literature. He serves also as a member of the board of managers of the Community Center in Fdedericksburg.
A carillon recital will follow the vesper service. In case of rain, the devotional service will be held at Main Street Baptist church at 7:45 p.m. and the carillon recital 'will be given at 7 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Cora Swift, wife of Wesley D. Swift o>f Washington, D. C., iwho died Monday, July 23, at a hospital in the city, following a year’s illness, were held Wednesday, July 25, at 2 o’clock from Amissville Baptist church. The Rev. M. E. Sliger officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Swift, 45, was the daughter of Moffett M. Jenkins and Mrs. Bertie S. Jenkins of Korea.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mr. Jack Dodson of Korea and Mrs. Ashby Haines of Vienna; and four brothers, John A. Jenkins of Korea, and Roy T., James M., and Haywood Jenkins of Amissville.
Those serving as pallbearers were Robert Alther, Jessie Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins, Clifford Jenkins, Albert Corbin, and Pail Smith.
