^Thanks—and Apologies
Mrs. D. D. Miller has expressed thanks to Capt. William Weiner of Flint Hill and to Mrs. Joe Yowell of Peola Mills for their contributions to the Red Cross Disaster Flood Relief for the victims in the great mid-west floods of the past few weeks.
Mrs. Miller asked that thanks be expressed to the newspaper, also, for publishing the idea, but the paper is offering an apology for having wdWed it so poorly that only two people in the county could figure out that it meant help was needed !
The telegram-appeal, sent to Mrs. Mjller, as local chairman, said that the emergency would call for $5,000,000 extra funds for the Red Cross to help in the disaster area, and that Rappahannock's share was $75. This money ia needed now; the people in the flood area are homeless.
The appeal goes out again, immediately: contributions are needed noiw to help in the flood disaster area. Mail your gift to Mrs. D. D. Miller, Washington, Va., so the money can be sent quickly to help those people—not in some far-away land, but right here at home, in our own country.
