Auto and Pick-up Collide
A collision occurred on Rt. 211, coming into Washington from Massie’s Corner, when a 1947 Ford driven by Wood Burke of Washington, was m a collision with a Pick-up truck, driven by Dutton Yowell, of Etlan.
Wood Burke had been on the night shift at the Viscose plant in Front Royal and as returning home. It is thought he fell asleep at the (wheel of his car and ran into Mr. Yowell’s pick-up truck.
Edgar Hawkins, a passenger in the Burke car, was cut about the head and face. He wps taken to Front Royal hospital where he received treatment and returned to his home in Washington.

For Scout Camp
Among the boys leaving for Boy Scout camp, “Rock Enon,” near Gore, Sunday were Carlyle Lea, Jimmie and Tommie Wayland, Hill Walker, Billy Nicholson, and John Turner. The boys were accompanied to camp by Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Lea and W. C. Campbell, who erturned to their homes Sunday evening.

The Lou Keyser Circle met on Thursday, July 26, with Mies Ethel Jenkins. Those present were Misses Gladys Reid, Gladys Payne, Mary Miller Wood, Elizabeth Racer, Mrs. Willie Payne, and Mrs. Mabels Racer, and two visitors, miss .£braenation ahu MuiUtiwt' Keyser. Refreshments were served by the hostess, assisted by Miss Elizabeth Racer and Miss Gladys Reid.
