A meeting of Rappahannock County Agricultural Mobilization Committee was held in the PM A office at Washington recently, according to .Earl R. Yancey, secretary to the committee. H. S. Barksdale, chairman, presided at the meeting and those in attendance were: W. H. Lyne, county agent; L. B. Henretty, soil conservation service; John Tapp, of PM A committee; D. D. Miller, of PMA committee; Caleb Pennock, forest service; B. R. Whit, Farmers Home Administration; H. D. Bowman, PMA field man; and Richard Beck, vocational Agriculture instructor.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and formulate plans for conducting a county survey known as the Family Farm Policy Review. This survey is to be a part of state and nation-wide canvass to try and determine how well the U. S. Department of Agriculture programs are meeting the needs of family farms. According to the plan, it is intended to give everyone who is seriously^ interested in agriculture an opportunity to look at all the farm programs and activities and express their thoughts about them. More details about the plan to ba followed in Rappahannock will appear in the paper next week.
