Tim building was erected by John A. cannon, of Manassas, Virginia, a wen known and experienced contractor and builder. It was completed during the year 1890» as provided by-the contract.- -
Special donations to the Church during construction included the following: The walnut Chancel Rail, a gift of Warrenton Methodist Church; the Bible Stand or Pulpit, a gift of Mrs. Emma Moore Beggarly; the Weather Vane on the spire, an infallible weather prognosticator, thought to be a gift of the contractor and builder, Mr. Cannon; the marble Comer Stone, the name of the giver no record; the abstract of title and the deed of gift to the lot, was prepared by William B. Settle, an attorney, without compensation; more recently, the walnut pews, a gift of Washington Presbyterian Church.
The Dedication Sermon was by Reverend J. R. Griffith, well loved and distinguished Methodist minister, who served the spiall membership during those years the building of a House of Worship was contemplated.
It was some years later to the Dedication, before the Church was financially able to secure all its requirements. The organ was purchased, and the Bell, which was hung in the Belfrey Saturday, March 30, 18/95.
