Breaks Wrist In Pall
Mrs. Floyd Compton had the misfortune to fall in her kitchen Sunday, August 5, and broke her right wrist. She was taken to Or. Snead's office, not knowing the wrist was broken. Dr. Snead advised her to go-to University hospital, and after having the wrist set, she returned to her home in Washington.
Mr*. Pollard Wins Title
Mrs. William Pollkrd,' ^-yearold graduate of George Washington University, became queen' of Virginia's amateur women golfers on August 3 at Charlottesville by routing Miss Mary Pat Janssen, 10 and 8, in the 30-hole finals of the 20th annual state tournament.
Mrs. Pollard is a daughter of Mrs. J. T. Hirst of Purcellville,, and a niece of Mrs. Charles T. Bruce of Washington.
