For Music Workshop

Students have arrived and erotic is in progress at Blue Ridge Musie Center’s first workshop, under the direction of William Haaker.

From S&luda and Urbanna are two young ladies, Miss Ann Hite Owen and Miss Martha Anne Re* vere. Christopher C. Geest is a student from Culpeper. These three students are at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Updike.

James Perkins, an instructor, a graduate of the Julliard School of music, is also boarding in town.

Classes include individual lessons during the morning hours; an instruction period in theory; and instrumental workshop in the afternoon. The evening choral groups meet on Tuesday end Thursday.

Other students listed to date include: Miss Mary Massie Lea and Miss Frances Walker of Washington; Joe Knakal, Kyle Prints, Miss Joyce Harlow, Mrs. Marjorie H. Warren and Miss Bevedly Harlow of Culpeper; David P, Corbin, Mrs. Danna Cook, and Charles B. Wood of Flint Hill; Fern Andes of Bealeton; and Miss Johnson of Sperryville. Four more students are enrolled from Amissville and three more from Flint Hill, but they did not attend the first meeting of the classes. More students are expected for the second week. Leeal Directors Moot

The local board of directors met last Wednesday evening at the home of Mr1, and Mrs. Alfred M. Hickman and helped with plans for the opening of the workshop and organisation for the first concert to be given Sunday afternoon, August 12, at 4:80 p.m.

Following the rehearsal of the orchestra Sunday, a dinner will foe given for members of the orchestra at DeBergh’s pond in Harris Hollow.

It has been announced that in case of rain early in the morning on Sunday, the concert will be postponed, but if a shower comes up late in the afternoon, the concert will be held as scheduled.

One special feature of Sunday’s concert will be the “Hungarian Fantasie” of Liszt, when William Haaker will play the piano and conduct.
