Lindsay Blair, Wabb Simmons and Doug Clark are at work throughout the county spreading milky spore dust to combat the Japanese beetle grub. The treatment on Rappahannock pasture; lands started Wednesday morning. -They will be working for the next three weeks primarily in the areas where no milky spore dust has been. used before and where no parasites have been released to work on the beetle grub.
A’ year ago the board of supervisors purchased 1000 pounds of the beetle-fighting dust to sell to county farmers at wholesale. Most of the dust sold to farmers went in the Flint Hill Re-settlement area, around Washington, and around Sperryville.
The remaining spore dust was sold to the state entomologist, Dr. French, on the condition that it would be used within the county.

Fund Still Under Goal
Donations for the American Red Cross flood relief fund have now reached $38, reports Mrs. D. D. Miller, but $42 is still needed to meet the county’s quota. Donations this week have been received from Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Baggarly and the Julia Hagood Graham Mis sionary Circle of the Flint Hill Baptist church.
