Livestock De&lers-Sellers Need Licenses
A dealer in livestock who hays and sells on his own account is a merchant. A person who buys cattle, hogs, sheep, etc., on his own account for raaale and resells them directly to purchasers or through the agency or facilities of a livestock market is a retail merchant, unless he does the business in such a manner as to bring him** self within the classification of a wholesale merchant.
Sometimes a person who operates a farm will buy livestock for fattening and will also buy livestock for resale as soon as purchasers can be found. The fanner is not a merchant for livestock he purchases for fattening, but is a merchant as to the livestock he purchases for resale as soon as purchasers can be found.
Sometimes a person acting as an independent contractor will buy or sell livestock on a commission basis, Such a person is a commission, merchant, as to the commission%usiness.
