Forester Pennock
Transfers to Richmond
Caleb M. Pennock, Jr., forester for the Virginia Forest Service, stationed at WArrenton, will be transferred to Richmond effective February Id. Forester Pennock’s transfer was announced by State Forester George W. Dean.
Forester Pennock has lived and worked in the Warrenton area since July, 1948, out of Charlottesville district headquarters He has handled the forestry work in Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Loudoun counties. State Forester Dean stated that Pennock will be assistant district forester for the Richmond , district in charge of forest management.
District Forester D. G. Wilfong, Jr., of the Charlottesville district said that Pennock’s replacement will be named in a few days and he will be an experienced forester transferred to the Warrenton office from the Virginia Forest Service organization. Wilfong stated that Pennock’s forestry accomplishments in his Warrenton area have been of the highest quality and great progress has been made with forest landowners in forest management and reforestation work.
Wilfong also remarked that forest landowners in the county desiring forestry assistance can continue to receive same by writing to the Virginia Forest Service, Box 111, Warrenton, Virginia.
