County News Notes
Mrs. Charles Green, Mrs. Bernard Weaver, Mrs. Mitchell Green, and Mrs. Hugh Riley spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Charles Compton.
Among those on the sick list from Amissville are Mrs. E. A. Tapp, Miss Virginia Tapp and Richard Johnson.
Cpl. Charles W. Compton, who is stationed at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Polly Compton.
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyne and their son, David, Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown spent the weekend in Roanoke. Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson were at “Rock Villa” during the absence of Mr. and Mrs. Brown.
Elder J. Harvey Daily spent the weekend in Martinsburg, West Virginia where he conducted services on Saturday and Sunday at the Primitive Baptist ✓. Church. Mrs. Daily who has been ill at her home in Sperryville is reported to be improving.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Cloud of Viewtown were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Maphis and daughter, Betty Lou, of Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mills and son, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cloud and son, Joe, and Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Cloud of Washington.
Mrs. Edgar Browning left on Saturday for a weeks visit to Mrs. Robert Eastham of Washington, D. C. On Friday, she will leave for Verrona, New Jersey for an extended visit to her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Browning.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henry Aylor and children, Joe Jr., and Ann Yates Aylor of Arlington spent the weekend at the Lee Highway Hotel with Mrs. Della Howard. Mrs. James M. Yates who spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Aylor has returned to her'home at the hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Fincham, Carroll Racer and family, Mis3 Lois Racer, and Richard Racer were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Leonard of Arlington on Sunday and attended the Billy Graham Services in Washington, D. C. .
