Orchardists Bow To
King Apple, Tyrant
The orchardists in Rappahannock—a few of them—have assembled themselves together, in obeisance and acknowledging the lordship of His Majesty, King Apple.
As no new item, King Apple is giving a little trouble. The fruit has figured as the center in many a struggle and controversy, since the father and mother of ns all got kicked out of the Garden of Eden because of an apple. It’s been causing trouble ever since.
Back in the pages of the story books most of the apples that caused the most trouble seeiped to be of the golden variety. (Rappahannock orchardists find that their troubles with apples are not partial to any particular variety. Red or gold, the trees have still got to be sprayed, pruned and pampered like a spoiled baby.
