Monday, Reager held regular meeting and Lewin Williams lead club in opening prayer. Program by club members were: Health Rules, Gardener Williams ; Safety Rules, Granville Fox; Five Star Breakfast, Robert Sealock; Seven Basic Foods, El wood Wines] Demonstration Setting Table, Billy Wines.
Project work was demonstrated on the “Making of Milk Drinks” and “Correct Measurements.”
Belle Meade 4-H met Wednesday. Rachel Deal gave a Bible reading. The finance committee reported $7.75 from sale of cards. Program for the club was a demonstration on drenching a sheep. The girls matched the plaids and cut a gingham dress, and afterwards marked the darts, etc.
Woodvile 4-H Thursday was presided over 4>y Margel Dulaney. As program demonstration, Gladys Jenkins made a valentine. A project demonstration was given. Pressing of a Wool Skirt
The importance of electricity on the farm and in the home was discuss-, ed at the first county wide electric meeting held in Washington last Tuesday. This was first meeting of a series of three meetings to be held each Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the fire hall at Washington. A total of 12 boys and 42 girls njust complete the electric project for a county winner.—boy and girl to attend the electric congress in Richmond this fall. 4-H’ers present at this meeting were: Elizabeth Smith, Myrla Ann Updike, Nancy Brown, Mary Lou Davis, Peachy Lyne, Francis Bruce, J. W. Brown, Jade Rutherford, Jonas Jenkins, Kenneth Clater, Donald Gore, Aylette Buckner, Melvin Williams, Guy Standish, Alvin Profitt, Others attending were Buddy Aylor, 4-H leader, Col, R. M. Munro, Miss Mary Bruce, Miss Dorothy Spicer and Rev. G. If. Profitt.
Mrs. H. L. Miller conducted a slip cover cinic Tuesday for agents and leaders from Clark and Rappahannock counties. Mrs. Mary Updike will be working with the agent at several slip covering clinics scheduled throughout the county.
Mrs. Joe Hitt , was. hostess to Amissville H. D. Wednesday. Durng business session the group decided to present a play in new community building. Committee selected for this was Mrs. Catherine Riley and Mrs. Lucy Hitt. The club voted to buy dishes for this community building as their community project this year. The demonstration given was on the topic FoWers for the Home Grounds.
P. T. Valley H. D. was entertained by Mrs. M. W. Brown, Thursday, February 12. The club welcomed Mrs. T. J. Pillar as new member. Mrs. M. W. Brown, federation- goal chairman, started the discussion of federal goal activities among which was discussion of our county government The demonstration given was Flowers for Home Grounds.
