Trench silos are becoming more popular aU over the country among dairy and beef cattle farmers. Construction cost is about 1/3 that of upright silos and now that more permanency is possible with new technology in design and structure at loiy cpsts, pips simple adaptability te self feeding there is no Wonder interest in this type of silo is growing. Walls can now be made fairly permanent, 40 years, and thats about as long as most of us are concerned over permancy, through reinforced pitatering.
