Mrs. Harry Smith, who recently undrwent a major operation at University Hospital and since has been spending several days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown, has returned to her apartment in Washington, D. C. and is making rapid progress towird recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Bruce, their son and daughter, Manley and Diane were guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Blankenbaker in Madison Mrs. Annie Gore Bruce who has been at Jackson Hill for a short stay left on Sunday for a visit to the Blankenbajcer home.

Among those from Sperryville who are vacationing in Florida this week are Mr. and Mrs. James W. Fletcher and their three daughters, Bucky, Cathy and Louise, Misses Ann Meade and Frances Smith and Mrs. William Meade Fletcher.
Mrs. Tasker Woodward and son, Larry, who have been spending some time with her husband at Falls Church, returned home on Saturday. Mr. Woodward returned with her for a week-end visit in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C H. Cloud.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds of Richmond spent the week end with Mrs. Holmes Hall at the Lee Highway hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Martin returned to Martinsburg, West Virginia Sunday night after a week end visit with Mrs. Ernest Dodson and family. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Martin accompanied Mr. and Mrs. David Anderson and Mrs. Annie M. Welch to Richmond where they attended a performance of the Old Dominion Barn Dance.
Elder J. Harvey Daily and Mrs. Daily who have been quite ill are improving.
Miss Louise Schwartz, who has been suffering from the effects of a badly sprained ankle, is recoverng . and is now at the place of business in Schwartz’s Store. She had with her for the week end her sister, Mrs. Clarence Ewing and two children, Sallie and Bill Ewing of Harrison
