Letter to the Editor:
A trip around the Town of Washington, Virginia this morning was most rewarding. The property of most of the citizens was spic and span with freshly cleaned yards and gardens and mowed grass.
Since this is the half-way mark of Clean-up Week, this is most gratfying and I am sure I speak for the Town Council as well as myself in thanking everyone for their splendid co-operation and effort in making the campaign a success.
The FFA Boys did an outstanding job in cleaning the Playground and the Rappahannock News on their advance publicity and they are to be commended for their effort for the benefit of the whole community. (Boy Scouts for their part in the clean-up program have planned an old bottle and paper collection after school is out.)
