Amissville Baptists
Building Parsonage
Work is progressing on construction work for the parsonage in Amissville, being erected by the Baptist congregation. A recent report from the church shows that funds collected are acceding to the schedule the members of the church set as their goal.
The building has had the porches erected and the lathes for plastering put on. Wiring for electricity has been installed and part of the heating plant assembled. The people feel encouraged with the progress.
Additional work of the congregation is that of painting the Sunday school rootns.
Sunday School is held at Amissville Baptist church every Sunday morning at 10 o’clock; morning worship is held the first and third Sundays ; with choir rehearsal every Friday evening at 7 and youth center for recreation at 8 o'clock.
Methodist Services
The Methodist church services will be held Sunday, May 24, at Amissville at 11 a.m. and at Jeffersonton at 8 p.m. Rev. Menchhofer will preach on “The Christian’s Use of God’s Earth.”
Services will be omitted at Oak Shade church due to the Victory Mass meeting in Winchester at 3 p.m. Oak Shade members will join with Jeffersonton in a union service.
Claude Cook will bring the message at Willis Chapel at 9:45 a.m. as is customary on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
William Mauck, at 11 a.m., as is customary on each fourth Sunday.
