After weeks of study and preparation the local Rescue Squad is about ready to begin operating. Much planning and work has been put into the organizing of this much-needed facility for Rappahannock county. The men in the squad have all finished their first aid course and received certificates as first aiders. They all realize that they are not doctors— for their course emphasized that they were only qualified to render temporary care until a doctor couid be reached.

The Red Cross has promised to furnish blankets for the rescue car, and as soon as they arrive the services of this rescue squad will be available to the citizens of Rappahannock or anyone traveling through the county that might need immediate first aid.

The members of the rescue squad have started raising money to purchase oxygen equipment for the car. Several donations have already been received, but they are far from the $435.00 needed to purchase this oxygen equipment.

Anyone wishing to contribute to this most worthy organization may send their contribution to the Rescue Squad, Washington, Va., C. T. Bruce, treasurer.
