McClaugherty, in charge of Livestock Grading from the State Division of Markets, was present and explained how the “New Lamb Grades” are determined. George Allen Jr., Assoc. Ext. Animal Husbandman of V.P.I., presented a chart on 1953 market lamb price quotations by grade, which clearly illustrated wby producers should have high quality lambs ready to sell early. Mr. Allen also stressed the importance of Creep feeding lambs on crack^l yellow corn (made accessable at all times) from two weeks of age until grass time.
