Joseph G. Burke
Joseph Griffith Burke died at his home Amissville, Tuesday morning, March 16 at the age of 62 after a lingering illness. He was the son of the late "“Henry Brent Burke and Sallie Bragg Burke.
Mr. Burke, formerly a U. S. Government carpenter, was a member of the Amissville Methodist Church.
Burial services were, conducted iby Harold Thatch, pastor, Friday morning at 11 o’clock in the Amissville ' Methodist Church an interment was in the National Memorial Park, Falls Church Friday afternoon.
Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Etta Elizabeth Heflin Burke, three children, Conway Burke, Falls Church and, Virginia and Kirkwood Burke, of Arlington; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bragg, of Warrenton, and four brothers, Elmer of Washington, D. C., Thomas Baltimore, Md.; Henry, Tyson Comer,, and Harvey of Miami, Florida.
Creel Burke, Howard Burke, Nelson Burke, James Schwab, Joseph Stevens, Earl Hitt, Boyd Baker and Howard Schwab, were active pallbearers. The following served as honorary pallbearers: Eddie Hitt, Eddie Hitt, Jr., Ellis Bragg, Robert Page, William Schwab, C. E. James and others.
