Several resolutions offered by State Senator Curry Carter of Staunton praised the records of U. S. Senators Byrd and Robertsan, and Rep. Harrison and lauded the state administration under ex-Gov. John Battle and Gove. Thomas B. Stanley.

Rappahannock delegate Bruce S. Bowie, was a member of the committee on Permanent Organization,and in the balloting, cast the vote for the Rappahannock delegation.

Mrs. Louise Howell, of Amherst, was the convention secretary^ with W. W. Smallwood of Berryville as sergeant-at-arms. C. M. Shannon, of Mt. Jackson, gave the report of the credentials committee while Harry Nash, of Waynesboro, reported the finding of the rules committee.
