Rappahannock Sale Seekers To Have Heyday
Spring cleaning is barely finished, and the attic made junkless, when auctions galore appear in print to plague the sale enthusiast. The round begins with R. H. Scroggins’ sale on Saturday, May 29 at 10 o’clock with farm implements, livestock and household furniture going to the highest bidder; and at 1 p.m. on Saturday a.m. Priest’s sale in Sperryville will draw many housewives with articles from floor lamps to mail boxes and crowbars mounding the block.
On Monday, the men will take over the auction attending when A. J. Kibler sells his service station, garage and other real estate, beginning at 1:30—rain or shine. And a little further in the future, June 4, there will be a land sale in the Court House, and on June 19 a sale of farm and personal property at Woodville.
