The Sperryville Girls’ Baseball Team, led by Betty Jean Settle, pitcher, defeated the Criglersville Girls’ Team in an exciting game played on the Sperryville diamond, May 21. Betty Jean pitched the entire game and disqualified the idea that “pitchers can’t hit” by knocking two home runs through center field.
