Lelia Gentry Wins First In “Share The Fun” Program
Share the Fun” was an appropriate name of a talent show given by the 4-H members. Thursday evening.
Winners over 14 selected were: Lelia Gentry—1st; B e t t y Rutherford and Ann Yates, 2nd.
Winners under 14 were: Reager School, 1st; Peachey Lyne. 2nd.
The program consisted of songs dances and acrobatic stunts. Songs - included ^Betty^Rutherford sing^-_ ing “Song from Moulin Rouge;” Ann Yates, “The Old Lamp Lighter;” Esther Fincham, “Till I Waltz Again With You ;” Jean Jenkins, “Release;” Rachel Manyand Dolly Smith (Duet), “You’re Just In Love.”
Five Reager 4-H members dramatized the song “Alabama” in a black-faced act. These contestants were Etta Campbell Virgie Wines and Elwood Wines.
Peachy Lyne danced to the “Ballet Waltz” and Lelia Gentry did an acrobatic stunt.
The winners compete in the state contest held during the Short Course at VPI in June.
Selecting the winner was the task of the honorable judges, Mrs. Gladys Bowie and Mrs. Lucia Kilby.
