Christmas Seal sales have felt a short drop the past week as the six districts contributed, jointly, an additional $95.30 to the county fund for fighting tuberculosis. -
The individual districts have given as follows: Hampton, $111.80; Wakefield, $69.50; Piedmont, $54.00; Stonewall, $47.50; Jackson, $42.50 Hawthorne,, $37.50, thus a total of $362.80.
Every year, Christmas Seals represent an honorable cause and a struggle against the unknown. This year, however, they embody both discoveries of past Christmas Seal dollars, and a possible end result. For slowly, but surely, there is evolving a possible curb to the disease. At this point in research, factors are beginning to fall together in likely patterns, and a solution may be upon us. That is why more than ever, this year each one must give his share, to push on this step of research which may lead to conquering TB—To conquer this TB which claimed 2 deaths in the county last year, and which spells misery for at least 19 county victims. To conquer this disease that promises only a heritage of raspy coughs and tiredness.
