William Carey Stout
Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, December 14> at Stevensburg Baptist Church cemetery for William Carey Stout, 75, who died at his home in Sper* ryville on Sunday, after some months of declining health.
The Rev. W. R. Snead officiated at the last rites. Pallbearers were E. N. Rinker, Wert H. Hurt, Edwin S. Norman, Earl Hawkins, William R. Walker and Russell Brown.
Mr. Stout was born March 11,1879, at Stevensburg, Culpeper Co son of the late William—CareyStout, of Stevensburg, and Hannah Davis Stout, of Rockbridge County. Mr. Stout is survived by his wife, Mrs. George Wood Stout, of Sperryville; one daughter, Mrs. James R. Adams; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Letitia Stout Crittenden, all of Washington, D. C.
Retired farmer of Culpeper County, Mr. Stout had made his home in Sperryville for the past six months. He was a member, deacon and trustee of Stevensburg Baptist Church.
Engagement Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Spicer of Brandy have announced the engagement of their daughter, Hazel June, to Edwin Hunter Pote, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Pote, Sr., of Culpeper. The wedding will take place in January.
