Hubert B. Smoot, son of Mr. and -Mrs. Tom Smoot of Washington, has recently been assigned to the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the famousi 101st. Airborne Division at Fort Jackson, >South Carolina.

The card party sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Flint Hill Fire Company, Friday evening, was a success in every way; plenty of fun and bank account for the Auxiliary increased $59.75. Among f those playing were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Laing Jr., and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rowzie and daughter of Amissville. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller's guests for csuv asta were Mr. and Mrs. Downing Wood, Miss Minnie Williams, Miss Irene Keyesr and Miss Betty Blagg. Mrs. W. F. Moffett’s bridge guests were Mrs. Elizabeth H. DeBergh, Mrs. George H«* Davis, Jr., Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. James F. Massie* Miss Nora Dillon, Mrs. Will Keyser and Joe Dejamett Keyser.

After the game, a salad Opiate was served by the ladies; prizes given for high scorers at-; each able. Mrs. Rowzie won j door prize and Mrs. Renalds woh the lucky number for the cake.
