Dr. Quairitance is of Rappahannock, born in the family home in 1876, the son of Dr. Oscar Ringold Quaintance, of Rappahannock, and Lilia Mallory Quaintance, formerly of Hanover County. He attended school at the Slate Mills Public School and following graduation Entered William and Mary College. Today he is recognized as their oldest living graduate.* Following graduation, the doctor taught school for 2 years, 1 at Slate Mills, another at Peola Mills. i
