Cooperation of Supervisor* Asked In Helping To Establish Airstrips In Co.
Jack Palmer, Director of Independent Citizens Defense, Inc., 635 Belleview Blvd, 'Alexandria, Vs., appeared before the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors at their August meeting on Wednesday, August 1, and asked their cooperation in establishing two air strips in the county.
Mr. Palmer gave as his reason for wanting to establish airstrips here that it would be a safe place to evacuate people from the city in case of enemy attack on Alexandria, Washington or that area.
One of the strips, Mr. Palmer said would have, in addition to the landing strip, a hospital, blood bank, civil defense school, emergency housing and food.
