At Rock Enon

Thirteen Scouts from Flint Hill Boy Scout Troop 3 6, attended Camp Rock Enon during Its fourth camping period last week. The Scouts were: Willie Laing, Tommy Williams, Richard Belch, Louie Miller, Bobby Moore, Charles Bowling, Butch Browning, J. G. Russell, Johnny Browning, Jackie Chadwell, Arthur Smott, Earl Lillard and Buddy Lillard. They camped with four Scouts from Washington, Troop 64, and three from Sperryville, Troop 66.

Three boys qualified for Swimmer rank, while seven were Beginners, and three were classified as Non-Swimmers. It was the first year at camp for nine of the boys, while two were in camp for the second year, and one each for third and fourth years.

Scoutmaster Paul Nichols, in camp for his third year, led the boys for the four days, while John Divers replaced him for three days in the middle of the week. It was Mr. Divers’ first year at camp.

The Scouts won a best two outof-three volleyball contest against Troop 47 of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. They also made a plaque, which was presented to the camp in the closing ceremonies. Many First and Second Class requirements were passed, and several

boys worked on Merit Badges!

Miss Kathy Laing returned home Tuesday after spending a week at camp near Richmond.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Laing and sons spent the weekend at Drum Bay.

Miss Carol Rowxie spent two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Richardson at Fine Creek, Ya. Misses Sandra and Linda Rowzie and R. H. Rowsie joined her for the weekend.

Miss ‘Joan Powell, of Herndon, returned home Sunday after spending two weeks with Miss Elizabeth Latham.
