arrangements for renting a little car, which is just wonderful for traveling on our limited budget
1 thought we’d motor right down to Marseilles for some of the Mediterranean air and sun and then leisurely roll along the coast on the Riviera for awhile before going inland a bit to Nimes. a city in Provence you’ll just have to see. It is the oldest of all the Roman cities in France, and its ancient monuments compare in number as well as beauty with those of Arles, or even Rome itself!
One thing we won’t have to worry about is sleeping accommodations, because France has a system of Logis which is a boon to the auto traveler. The Logis are small hotels (over 1,000 of them) scattered over every highway and byway of France. They’ve been modernized recently and are really a welcome addition to the larger hotels. The prices are a lot lower .than you’d think, too!
