Ten Inch Snowfall
Paralyzes Country
More than ten inches of snow graced ^ie Rappahannock countryside last week as snow started falling Wednesday evening and continued throughout the clay Thursday. Before midnight Wednesday, roads were hazardous arud driving conditions very, bad with motorists unable to negotiate the steep hills and curves which are common in this area. Friday brought with it clear skies and fifty-mile winds which whipped the hills bare and piled the light snow in drifts making country roads impassable.
Schools were recessed from Thursday until the following Tuesday and attendance was off one third Tuesday since some busses were unable to make complete trips.
Over the weekend, bulldozers owned by individuals joined the regular road clearing machines on the county roads, pushing out drifts as high as six feetr according to Wallace Critzer, one of the dozer Continued on page twelve
Senior Class Variety
Show March 11
The Senior Class will present a Variety Show Friday evening at the high school auditorium (if the weather permits) at 8:00 p.m. As the name implies, the show will consist of a variety of acts, songs, etc. by members of the class. For a full evening of entertainment be at Rappahnnock High School Friday, March 11.
