Mr. Barksdale Flint Hill, Va. Dear Mr. Barksdale, I am glad that Rappahannock County is putting forth an effort t() try to locate an industry in the county. 1 am an employee in the Strasburg plant and live here in Rappahannock County. 1 have worked at this plant for three years. The industry has very' good working conditions such as six paid holidays; one week of paid vacation; $KM> life insurance; bonus at Christmas; Christmas party with free lunch; there is music while working; air conditioned building, coffee breaks in the morning and evening with fresh donuts and pie.
The wages'* are good and we make good money, tor myself 1 can say this plant has meant a lot to me. I have a long way to go to work, but 1 feel it is worth it. It would be a wonderful thing if we could get this plant in the county. There is another advantage and that is they hire school girls m the summer, while on vacation. Th(\ also have boys working in the evening after school to clean up.
I wouldn't want to work for a better company and could have no better management. If this county doesn't accept this plant it is making a big mistake. 1 hope you will do all Vou possibly can in trying to get this plant in operation. It would be a good idea for the committee to go through the plant at Strasburg and 1 know Mr. Adlis would be glad to show you around.
