Dear Folks

Talking with a friend of mine yesterday, she told me a story about her grandchildren, two Methodist, two Episcopal and one Baptist. She was asking them if they knew the hymns that were sung in Sunday School. The only child that knew the hymns of his church was ‘ the Baptist, who is the youngest. Now you guess who we are/talking about. ITe grandmother has six grandchildren.

Mrs. Hugh Riley of Amissvillc, sent us an egg-plant from her garden this morning. It weighs over 4 pounds. It really is a beauty. Virginia Smith suggested that I take it home and stuff it for lunch and invite her, along with Sarah up to eat. The only difficulty was Sarah wouldn’t let me. She wanted it here in the office for everyone to here in the office for everyone to see. Understand Capt. and Mrs. Stuart are grow'ing some prize pumpkins. Looks as though the vegetable growing contest is on and Amissville is ahead at present.

Jack Racer also brought an odd twin cucumber in to show- us. Mr. Racer has just returned from having a check-up at Blue Ridge and is doing fine.
