Method and rate payment to registrars for purging the registration books was discussed and it was decided that Chairman Jones should meet with D .D. Miller of the electoral board, to make a decision on this matter.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court, who was allowed $800 for part time help for the year, asked for an additional $43.75 to finish out this year. After a discussion that this walbad business to raise appropriations'for it could become a bad habit, the money was granted.
Abuse of dog laws in the county was next on the agenda and it was felt though there was a dog law in force it was not enforced. Dog owners who let their animals run at large can be fined as much as $500 and it was agreed that action would be necessary after an owner was notified of his dog becoming a nuisance.
Building permits, which are required but often overlooked, were discussed and the present ordinance is to be amended to include the builder as responsible as well as the owner so that proper assessment can be made.
Resolutions on better and area distance phone service were adopted.
Motion was made for payment of current bills and salaries and a bill for expenses for the Commonwealth Attorney in investigating recent crimnal cases was approved.
Hunting season laws were studied and a request is to be made to the State Commission for alterations in the hunting season in the county.
